The Global Group Antenatal Care Collaborative | Membership

PURPOSE OF THE COLLABORATIVE

The Collaborative brings together those involved in research aimed at increasing global understanding about group antenatal care in low and middle-income countries (LMICs). The primary goal of the Collaborative is to support an open forum where researchers can learn, share, and build partnerships in this emerging field and inform an active research agenda and prioritization.  The specific goals of the Collaborative include, but are not limited to:

The Collaborative aims to agree on the following set of common definitions and guidelines:

  • Essential components of all models for group antenatal care

  • Key principles/best practices for group antenatal care

  • Recommended minimum set of core indicators to track in research and to monitor implementation of GANC

  • Recommended additional indicators to assess group antenatal care

The Collaborative aims to serve as a hub to share and disseminate relevant study protocols, instruments and findings.

The Collaborative members aim to serve as thought leaders in identifying research gaps and setting research priorities.

The Collaborative will advocate for careful implementation and evaluation of group care models at major conferences and other academic events.
